Before you hang the “Closed for the Holidays” sign, take an hour for what I call The Fast Five: quick, high-impact steps that can move the needle before the year ends.
1. Does your business depend on holiday traffic?
Schedule a call with your IT person this week. Make sure your geo data is comprehensive and your site is correctly indexed for local search. A simple metadata update can drive new visitors while you’re still wrapping gifts.
2. Send a memorable holiday message. Make it different!
Skip the generic “Season’s Greetings” email. Instead, craft a short, authentic message that says why this year mattered. Use a story, a reflection, even a humble thank-you, to build connection (and keep you top of mind).
3. Freshen your homepage hero section.
Update your main image or headline for the season. Something as small as “Helping You End the Year Strong” gives your site a current, cared-for look, and can subtly encourage last-minute buyers or inquiries.
4. Showcase your best success story of the year.
Post one short “before and after” project story. People love results, and this time of year, they’re in decision mode for next year’s budgets. Social proof today = leads tomorrow.
5. Follow up on the maybes.
Remember that prospect who said, “Circle back after the holidays”? Casually circle back before the holidays. A friendly check-in now, when competitors have gone quiet, can turn a maybe into a signed project before year-end.
Bottom line: Finish the year on offense, not autopilot.
And if your words need a quick refresh to make that happen, I’m just a message away.
